22-year-old Tarpon Springs man arrested after vehicle break-in, suspect on the run

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla .– At approximately 3:28 a.m. on Thursday, officers from the Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to the area of ââ790 Arthurs Court in reference to an ongoing vehicle burglary.
The appellant told police that his ring camera had activated, which alerted the owner.
Tarpon Springs Police and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have established a perimeter in the area and have asked K-9 to respond and help. Police say the K-9 was able to apprehend Keyanta K. Washington, 22, of Tarpon Springs.
Washington has been charged with 2 counts of burglary; Unoccupied vehicle and 1 head of vagrancy and prowl.
Police are still looking for a suspect who has fled.
Since May 30, Tarpon Springs has responded to approximately 12 vehicle break-ins in the southwestern part of town. All break-ins appear to be from unlocked vehicles.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department, in a statement, said, âWe call on all of our citizens to ensure your vehicles are locked to deter these break-ins from happening. Do not leave valuables, firearms or keys in the vehicle.
