EPS identify man and woman with money orders, recover stolen truck

A man and woman wanted in Alberta for several criminal offenses, including possession of a stolen vehicle, were located by Estevan Police Department late Thursday afternoon.
Sgt. Tyler McMillen reported that operatives spotted the 39-year-old man and 40-year-old woman on the outskirts of town, and when the names they gave to police yielded no information, they dug a little deeper.
“Eventually we were able to identify them correctly and it turned out that they had arrest warrants for their arrests and they were also driving a stolen vehicle. This is one of those things where it was. just a good police job and the members were in the right place at the right time to resolve this incident. “
The two men are both charged with possession of a stolen vehicle contrary to section 354 of the Criminal Code, possession of other stolen property, willful obstruction of a police officer by providing a false name and violation of the conditions of ‘commitment. The man was also accused of having driven a means of transport when he was prohibited from doing so.
“The truck was stolen out of Alberta so the owner will be happy to get his property back after a few weeks away,” McMillen said.
He added that the man and woman were remanded in custody last night and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
