Kabak plan clear as Liverpool aim for Man Utd
Liverpool enter talks hoping to snatch a Man Utd target at Old Trafford, while Everton swings into action for a double deal – both in all recent Euro Paper Talk.
THE REDS HAVE OPENED TALKS FOR THE DEFENDER
Liverpool opened initial talks with agents of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to a report.
Indeed, the Premier League trio have all maintained ties with Milenkovic in recent weeks in their search for a new top defensive signing this summer.
According to the Italian publication, the three sides have “tested the water” with the player’s representatives on a deal in the next transfer window.
In fact, United have already started to “assess” the financial costs of a final deal for the center-back.
Nonetheless, Liverpool remain firmly in the race and, as Sports witness points out, their interest may well signal that a plan is in place for Ozan Kabak.
The Turkish defender was loaned to the Reds in January, with an option to make the deal permanent. But if Liverpool are considering signing a new top player, Kabak will likely come back to Schalke.
In all cases, Calciomercato adds that Milenkovic decided “a long time ago” that he wanted to seek a new challenge to advance his career.
The 23-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2022 and Fiorentina have yet to give up hope of tying him up.
However, the Serie A team are aware that the likelihood of an extra time is “now very low”.
