Nikola, PGT Trucking collaborate on FCEV

Nikola Corp. announced a collaboration with PGT Trucking Inc. which includes a letter of intent from the flatbed transporter to lease 100 Nikola Tre fuel cell electric vehicles following the satisfactory completion of a Nikola Tre FCEV demonstration program .
The Nikola Tre FCEV cabover has an intended range of up to 500 miles.
The rental order will include the truck, scheduled maintenance and hydrogen refueling solutions, according to Phoenix-based Nikola.

“It is forward-thinking and strategic partnerships, like the ones we have with Nikola, that enable us to cultivate advancements in transportation,” PGT President Gregg Troian said in a statement.
“This partnership will give us the opportunity to offer progressive transport solutions to our customers, while aligning with the sustainable development initiatives carried out by the company and reducing their carbon footprint by using innovative energy sources. . “
Truck deliveries to PGT are scheduled to begin in 2023, when production begins at the manufacturing facility in Nikola’s Coolidge, Ariz.
PGT Trucking is ranked 99th on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
