President Ilham Aliyev’s policy of creating proper transport infrastructure in Azerbaijani Karabakh strengthens the country’s position as a transit unit
BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Azerbaijani regions of Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Zangilan.
The Head of State and the First Lady attended the inauguration ceremony of the Soltanli station in Jabrail, the inauguration ceremony of the energy unit of Jabrayil, familiarized themselves with the construction of the international airport from Zangilan and the Horadiz-Jabrail-Zangilan-Aghband highway.
Deputy director of the Russian School of Economics, professor at Azerbaijan Economic University, Elshad Mammadov, told Trend that the implementation of an effective energy policy, the creation of a structure and proper infrastructure for power generation in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is a very well thought out decision. .
“It should be understood that the growing domestic needs of the country’s economy and the social sphere in the production of electricity, as well as the export potential, allow us to say that it is necessary to invest effectively in the creation of production capacities in the energy sector,” said Mammadov.
“We can count on impressive indicators of the scale of the national economy for electricity export. I believe that the commissioning of Zangilan International Airport will increase our country’s air transport capabilities “, Mammadov added.
“The effective policy of the Head of State aimed at creating an appropriate transport infrastructure in Karabakh strengthens the position of Azerbaijan as a transit hub and allows us to direct transport and logistics capabilities, first place, for the transport and logistics of products with higher added value”, he also added.
According to Ph.D. in economics Ilgar Velizade, laying the foundations of energy poles in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is an important part of the activities aimed at ensuring the implementation of the recovery plans of Karabakh, especially its southern part – the regions of Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Zangilan.
“These regions are located along the Zangazur transport corridor, from the point of view of their geographical location. All the transport projects that are carried out in this region are in any case linked to the implementation of the concept of this corridor. The concept of reviving Zangilan the region will become a model for other such projects,” said Velizade.
He pointed out that the creation of a garden city is envisaged within the framework of this concept.
“The successful implementation of this concept in Zangilan will become a model for the implementation of the same concept in other territories, including the territories that were not occupied. These projects are important and stimulate the development of Azerbaijani cities “, he noted.
