Update: Pet Transport Service Sends Help To Las Cruces After Losing Dog In Care | KAMR
LAS CRUCES, NM (KTSM) – A Florida-based pet transport services company said it was sending its most experienced transporter to Las Cruces to help search for Jingo, a dog lost earlier in the week after running away from a manager at a gas station.
As KTSM previously reported, a woman in Los Angeles hired Blue Collar Pet Transportation to bring her dog Jingo home. The dog, however, bit the employee responsible for transporting Jingo and fled into the wilderness at a Love truck station in Las Cruces.
The community of Las Cruces heard of the dog’s disappearance and came together to help find him in the desert.
The dog’s owner said her pet was naturally nervous and said she disclosed it to the carrier beforehand.
In a statement, Blue Collar Pet Transportation told KTSM:
We train daily for this. Jingo turned around and bit the transporter during a potty stoppage and it was noted he was a runner and sure enough when the transporter backed off from the bite Jingo grabbed the opportunity and took off . We spent 2 days traveling the region, knocking on doors, showing pictures of Jingo to businesses. We have been in contact with animal control and the local police department to try and get help.

A company spokesperson said they wanted to continue helping the family search for Jingo who was last seen in the desert. However, groups failed to save her.
“It’s a very precarious business we’re in, but we started this because of the owner’s love for animals. We would never do anything other than what is best for the animal and the customer, but we are humans and we are certainly not perfect. We are doing everything in our power to help find Jingo, ”the spokesperson said.
